How to test DS-100 before use?

1.Lighted cigarette: Place the detector near cigarette smoke.

2.Smoldering paper: Light a piece of paper, extinguish the flame, and let it smolder. Place the detector and smoldering paper in a sealed, non-flammable container (such as a glass jar).

How does the Power-Saving Mode work?

The DS-100 uses an energy-efficient LCD screen. After 5 minutes of inactivity, the screen dims to save battery, but it CONTINUES DETECTING co levels and will ALERT you if concentrations exceed the set threshold.

Why does the device sometimes fail to detect CO?

Not all combustion generates enough carbon monoxide to trigger detection. In well-ventilated areas or during complete combustion (e.g., a gas stove’s blue flame or a car engine running smoothly), CO levels may be too low for the detector to activate.

Can DS-100 replace a fixed household CO alarm?

DS-100 is a portable detector that is ideal for travel, camping, or cars. It provides supplemental protection for the home, but it cannot completely replace a fixed carbon monoxide alarm that meets residential safety standards.
